What if the classic monsters of the 1920-1950s were born that way and were once normal children with “special” predilections? Such is the premise of MONSTER KIDS, a new classically animated project that presumes that the monsters all knew each other as schoolchildren at Jack Pierce Elementary in Transylvania. Including Frank, Drac, Wolf Kid, Jr Hyde, Phantom Kid, Bride, Little Creature, Invisible Kid and Mummy Kid, MONSTER KIDS is created in retro 1950-1960s Saturday morning cartoon style. With an international cast-crew of fans of the originals, the project contains much homage and playful fun.

YOUTHFUL PREY
Youthful Prey is my tenth book, and my fifth in the true crime genre (my other books are realistic crime fiction) I write about true crime because it helps me understand aberrant psychology - my father was an exceptionally violent man, a domestic tyrant, as was his own father and grandfather. They each married women who were passive-aggressive, who looked the other way whilst their children were being beaten. I’ve written about everything from female serial killers to sadistic murderers, and, whenever possible, offer details of abuse survivor groups, etc, at the end of each book.
Youthful Prey was the most chilling to research as it profiles homicidal paedophiles. (Or pedophiles, to use the American spelling.) These men, and occasionally women, from the United States, Britain, Canada and Europe, were willing to abduct and kill young children in order to assuage their lust.
But I was also aware that most paedophiles seduce rather than kill, so have included a chapter on how parents can help their children to become more assertive and less likely to be targeted. I also interviewed an undercover detective, who pretended to be a paedophile - working for ten years on the Paedophile Unit - in order to entrap these manipulative men. JUST SOME DEAD SPACE
BURBANK, Calif. – Evidence of mankind’s creator also plays host to our worst nightmare, in Anchor Bay Entertainment’s October 28th DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of DEAD SPACE: DOWNFALL.
A must-have feature that bridges the narrative between the ongoing Image Comics series and the highly anticipated Electronic Arts video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (to be released October 21st and the PC version released October 28th), Dead Space: Downfall’s terrifying tale leads into the highly anticipated Electronics Arts video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 to be released October 21st and the PC version released October 28th, completes one of the more ambitious - and disturbing - multi-media story arcs in recent horror history.
“The trick here is it's three different properties, the comic, the movie, and the video game,” said Jimmy Palmiotti, co-scriptwriter for Downfall.
“For us, it was creating another 400 ways to kill people … Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it turns another corner.” Joe Goyette, Dead Space Downfall's producer, added, “The comic book has it's own voice. The game has it's own voice. We have our own voice too.” That voice - entailing everything from bone-chilling suspense to unanswered screams for mercy - completes the plot of the comics, and gives gamers insight into the horrors they'll face.
DEAD SPACE: Downfall was produced and animated by Film Roman (“The Simpsons,” “King of the Hill”) – Film Roman and Anchor Bay Entertainment are divisions of Starz Media – and is the first of several planned Film Roman animation projects based on Electronic Arts franchises.
Both the DVD and the Blu-ray will feature a deleted scene, trailers and hidden “cheat” codes for the EA video game. The Blu-ray is a 25GB offering, with 1080p video encoded with AVC. English True HD and DTS-HD tracks are included, along with a Spanish subtitle track. In a first for Anchor Bay Entertainment, a CD soundtrack in MP3 format, presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, can be downloaded via BD Live features, as well as animatics and other Dead Space: Downfall extras. The Blu-ray will also feature a separate standard definition DVD with digital copies for the PC and PlayStation Portable.
SYNOPSIS:
An ancient religious artifact has been recovered by a deep-space mining ship, and for the crew of the USG Ishimura, life just became a living hell. Unearthed on a far-away planet during a mining operation, the relic is worshiped by some, even seen as proof of God. But when it’s removed from its resting place and brought on the ship, the artifact unleashes a long-dormant alien race, one bent on ripping apart - and taking over - every human aboard. Their screams CAN be heard in space … but only the slashers are listening.

KILLER'S DELIGHT - This one comes from 1978 and, if it had got better distribution, may have ushered in the era of psycho serial killers and forensic cop thrillers, at least ten years sooner.

Tim Burton's THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS - This 1993 stop motion animated film is pretty cool one for kids and as a grownup, I can enjoy it too. Tim Burton (EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, MARS ATTACKS!, SLEEPY HOLLOW, PLANET OF THE APES [2001], CORPSE BRIDE, SWEENEY TODD) wrote the story and the characters, but Michael McDowell (BEETLEJUICE, TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE, THINNER) adapted Tim's story for the screen and Caroline Thompson (EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, CORPSE BRIDE) wrote the screenplay. Directed by Henry Selick.
NUDE FOR SATAN - From 1974, this sleezeball fright flick is wall to wall nudity. If that's what you want, then this is the movie for you.
