FEB. 28 FINAL WORD ON DOOMSDAY HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAY TO -
FEB. 27
QUICK BITE I'm the featured reader this month at Dread Central's Dreadtime Stories, where I read from my new novel FIRES RISING. Check it out at DreadCentral.com. From Jeremy C. Shipp My novella "Flapjack" is now published in The Bizarro Starter Kit (Blue). Here's the official book description: There's a new genre rising from the underground. Its name: BIZARRO. For years, readers have been asking for a category of fiction dedicated to the weird, crazy, cult side of storytelling that has become a staple in the film industry (with directors such as David Lynch, Takashi Miike, Tim Burton, and even Lloyd Kaufman) but has been largely ignored in the literary world, until now. The Bizarro Starter Kit features short novels and story collections by ten of the leading authors in the bizarro genre: Ray Fracalossy, Jeremy C. Shipp, Jordan Krall, Mykle Hansen, Andersen Prunty, Eckhard Gerdes, Bradley Sands, Steve Aylett, Christian TeBordo, and Tony Rauch. I also have a couple new interviews, one at Apex Online and one at The Writers' Block. From Skullvines Press and Rich Ristow All the while, Ristow struggled with writing, partly because throughout his academic experience, he chose to write mostly narrative poetry. A few years after graduation, he wrote very little due to frustration with the form. As a result, he submitted only minimally. Eventually, after undergoing throat surgery, he decided to mostly give up poetry altogether and embrace narrative prose. "Into The Cruel Sea" is Rich Ristow's first serious attempt at writing horror fiction. Excerpt from INTO THE CRUEL SEA - She also has a boyfriend. The problem, however, is that her boyfriend went insane and murdered his parents, becoming a monster in a literal and metaphorical sense. Now, after having disappeared, he has returned, and he wants Beth to join him. So, Beth faces a choice - boyfriend or father? Frankly, both choices suck. HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -
FEB. 26 TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS IN NEW MEXICO Working with this group in bringing this project to Albuquerque has been a great pleasure. This is an exciting time for Albuquerque Studios. To have the opportunity to host a production, cast and crew of this magnitude does not come along often and it speaks to the quality of the studio and the great film incentive programs put in place by the state of New Mexico. The film is scheduled for a North American theatrical release May 22, 2009. Warner Bros. Pictures is handling all U.S. and Canadian distribution rights for the film, with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group (SPWAG) handling international distribution rights in all territories (excluding Korea and select Mideast territories). The Halcyon Company acquired all ''Terminator'' franchise rights in May 2007. TERMINATOR SALVATION: The Future Begins will be the first film in a new ''Terminator'' trilogy and will mark the latest installment of the multi-billion dollar ''Terminator'' franchise. Moritz Borman, Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek will produce. McG will direct the film from a script by John Brancato and Michael Ferris (TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES). Christian Bale (AMERICAN PSYCHO, REIGN OF FIRE, EQUILIBRIUM, BATMAN BEGINS) will star as John Connor. On TERMINATOR SALVATION: The Future Begins coming to Albuquerque Studios, COO Nick Smerigan said, "When building this facility, this is exactly the type of project we envisioned having and we look forward to working with Derek and Victor of The Halcyon Company and McG and the entire cast and crew." Added Jeremy Hariton, the studios' Sr. VP, "Working with this group in bringing this project to Albuquerque has been a great pleasure. This is an exciting time for Albuquerque Studios. To have the opportunity to host a production, cast and crew of this magnitude does not come along often and it speaks to the quality of the studio and the great film incentive programs put in place by the state of New Mexico." On the latest project coming to Albuquerque Studios Mayor Martin Chavez said, "This is possibly the biggest production of 2008 and the city of Albuquerque warmly welcomes everyone from the production, not only to our city, but to our world class Albuquerque Studios." TERMINATOR SALVATION: The Future Begins will be produced and directed by McG (STAY ALIVE) and written by the writing team of Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato (TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, PRIMEVAL), plus David C. Wilson (SUPERNOVA).

FEB. 25 TWO MEN STABBED DURING HORROR FLICKFULLERTON, Calif. (UPI) - A mystery stabber attacked two men watching a horror movie at theater in Fullerton, Calif, in what police said looks like a random attack. Officers were sent to the AMC Theater after receiving a report about a bag filled with illegal substances, said Fullerton police Lt. Tom Basham. While at the theater, where THE SIGNAL was showing, officers were confronted with a crowd of people running out, including two bloodied men. Continued at UPI.com.
From R.S. Connett Since the beginning, Connett has taken 'The road less traveled' in order to make his living as an artist. He has not had a 'physical art show' in a 'real' gallery since he began showing online well over a decade ago (he had several art showing in 'brick and mortar' galleries prior to his creation of his online gallery'). SAY'S CONNETT: Connett still does all the updates his small site. I juggle my web work and my painting. However, the easel often wins, and there has been some gaps in my site updates. "I'm a painter first and foremost. the website is a means to my end." RS Connett's work has grown in popularity over the years. His work is collected all over the world. He handles the sales and distribution of his paintings and prints himself from his home/studio in LA, Calif. To see more of his works, pay a visit to Vomitus.com. TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY! Television - HIGH DEFINITION - These are the movies - 30 DAYS OF NIGHT - An excellent Vampire movie that was poorly advertised as a Hollywood "agenda" movie instead of the groundbreaking Horror movie it really is. Please read our review. BEOWULF - This was not the hit that was hoped for, but it clung tenaciously to the weekly box office top ten for a long time. It has a lot of pluses to go along with its many negatives, so it might be the right Cult movie for you. BLACK BLOOD BROTHERS: STARTER SET - Anime vampires. Regular vampires seek to stop virus infected vampires who want to infect (not kill) all of humanity. You can't have an entire planet of vampires. What would they suck? A BLOODY ARIA - A torturiffic 2006 flick from Asia. An aspiring opera singer flees the forceful sexual advances of her professor, runs to the woods, finds help, then gets brutalized by the samaritan and his amigos. THE BLOODSTAINED SHADOW - Lots of giallo goodies this week including this tale from 1974. Two adult brothers discover that their nightmares of childhood trauma are somehow key to a series of horrible murders in their hometown. BONE DRY - A man is forced at gunpoint to go on a brutal, sadistic journey through the Mojave desert. Stars Lance Henrikson (TERMINATOR, ALIENS, NEAR DARK, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR). THE CASE OF THE BLOODY IRIS - Giallo goodness from 1972 starring Edwige Fenech. INSIDE - A quirky married couple buries a stranger who reminds them of their dead son. Thing is, the stranger is still alive. THE LIVING DEAD AT MANCHESTER MORGUE - I want to add, "For One Night Only!" This zombie cannibal cruncher from 1974 involves an entire English town of folks turned into cannibal zombies thanks to a radioactive agriculture machine. Directed by Jorge Grau (LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE). NATURE MORTE - Around the world, an art expert chases down, via the appearance of the artist's paintings, the person responsible for the murders of the painted subjects. A painting appears, the body of the person in the painting soon follows. THE RAGE - This movie, which is NOT 28 DAYS LATER, is about a mad scientist (Andrew Divoff: WISHMASTER, THE RAGE WITHIN, DR. RAGE), who injects unwilling experimental subjects with a virus that turns them into enraged zombies... birds too. As I explained back in 2006 (I meant that the birds also turn into enraged zombies, not that the zombies turned into birds. Enraged or otherwise), this is HORROR THRILLER Scenario 1d. Stars Reggie Bannister (PHANTASM) and directed by Special Effects Artist, Robert Kurtzman (FROM BEYOND, EVIL DEAD II, PREDATOR, PHANTASM II, DEEPSTAR SIX, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 5, TREMORS, BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR, ARMY OF DARKNESS, NEW NIGHTMARE, IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, SPAWN, THE NIGHT FLIER, PHANTOMS, THE FACULTY, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 2, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, THE GREEN MILE, GHOSTS OF MARS, CABIN FEVER, HULK, TREMORS 4, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, 2001 MANIACS, HOSTEL and much more). SHORT NIGHT OF GLASS DOLLS - From 1971 comes this giallo film about a living man trapped inside his own dead body. As he tells the story which led to his own quasi-demise, he must also figure out a way to tell someone that he is actually alive before it is too late. Directed by Aldo Lado (WHO SAW HER DIE?) THE SICK AND TWISTED HORROR OF JOANNA ANGEL - This movie is for that subset of Horror fans who really want someone to challenge their disgust threshold. Intentionally gory, intentionally disgusting, this film will do its level best to make you bark at the ants. SLIPSTREAM - An avant garde fantasy, scifi mystery created by actor Anthony Hopkins (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS). So weird it has to be here. THEM - No, not the giant ants, we already covered THEM. And no, this isn't THEY, from a few years ago. This 2006 French movie is billed as the film that terrified Europe (where it was released as ILS). WHO SAW HER DIE? - From 1972 is this giallo tale of a Father forced to investigate the bizarre murder of his own daughter. Directed by Aldo Lado (SHORT NIGHT OF GLASS DOLLS) And On Sunday - Writer / Publisher / Editor and feoamante.com alumni, Monica J. O'Rourke (SUFFER THE FLESH, DECADENCE volumes 1 & 2) is 42 today. Actor Billy Zane (CRITTERS, DEAD CALM, DEMON KNIGHT, CLAIM, DARK HARVEST, SILENT WARNINGS, VLAD, SILVER CITY, THREE, MEM-O-RE, BLOODRAYNE, KURTLAR VADISI-IRAK, and more) is also 42. Visit him at MySpace.com/NateSouthard. FEB. 22 According to BoxOfficeMojo, THE SIGNAL opens this week at only 160 theaters nationwide. Two of the major stars of the movie Anessa Ramsey and Scott Poythress personally wrote in earlier this week to give Feo Fans a special invitation! Anessa Ramsey and A.J. Bowen will also be at Fangoria's Weekend of Horror in Chicago this weekend. You want more? Fine! BE that way! How about I start a contest today? Eddie is a friend at MySpace.com/ HauntedMemories1969. Or check out HauntedMemories.com. Today's birthday boy will play any role on television, but when it gets into movies, he takes a decidedly twisted turn. Happy Birthday to Actor Kyle MacLaughlin (BLUE VELVET, THE HIDDEN, TWIN PEAKS [TV], TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME, ROSWELL, VAULT OF HORROR I, WINDSOR PROTOCOL, THE TRIGGER EFFECT, THUNDER POINT, XCHANGE) is 49. RETURN TO TOPFEB. 21 RIP FOR BEN

What's more, feoamante.com is the #1 Horror Thriller website on the Internet, according to to search engines like Google.com, search.com, webcrawler.com, mamma.com, clusty.com, and dogpile.com! (and now #2 on Live.com, Ask.com and #3 on Yahoo.com!). No other Horror or Horror Thriller website is as consistently ranked #1 as feoamante.com, which makes this website the #1 Horror Thriller website in the world! Hell, the whole freaking Universe! All that said, I'm not the only Feo out there! Check out today's Famous Feo, artist Michael De Feo, at mdefeo.com and MySpace.com/ MichaeldeFeo.

Happy Birthday to Writer / Director Joe Monks (Books: STUFF OUT'A MY HEAD, CRY FOR DAWN, THE NIGHT TERRORS, NIGHTCRY, TALES OF THE DEAD, ZACHERLEY'S MIDNIGHT TERRORS, and more) who is 40. Look for Joe's upcoming 2008 Horror Thriller movie release, THE BUNKER. I'm a "friend" of Joe's at MySpace.com/ JoeMonks01. Today's birthday boy appears to be moving quite determindededly into Horror and Thrillers, having already conquered Suspense and Mystery. And note that the previous sentence is painting in broad strokes as Chuck's novels are twisted enough to defy description. But hey, we love weird! And not just because one of our reviewers is a transexual. It gets weirder than that here. So Happy Birthday to Writer Chuck Palahniuk (FIGHT CLUB, INVISIBLE MONSTERS, SURVIVOR, HAUNTED, RANT, SNUFF) who is 46. Visit Chuck's official ChuckPalahniuk.net.
