SINS OF THE SIRENS
This week Dark Arts Books announced the arrival of SINS OF THE SIRENS, a four-woman anthology that includes Maria Alexander, Christa Faust, Mehitobel Wilson, and me! I'll have four stories in the book, including the X-rated version of "Still Life with Shattered Glass" and the impossible to find "Last-Born," along with some succubus action and bad times at the Burbank airport. I am extremely excited about this book. Hope you’ll check it out!
WHAT'S BECOME OF ALICE?
Several years ago, it was made known that there would be a movie based on the video game Alice, a critically acclaimed re-invention of Alice in Wonderland that finds its heroine returning to a dark and sinister version of Wonderland as a young adult after her family is killed in a fire. Understandably affected and unhinged by both the events in the real world and her surreal adventures on the other side of the looking glass, Alice is now a disturbed individual. Director Marcus Nispel (2003's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Sarah Michelle Gellar have long been attached to the project, which has been floundering in development limbo since its inception.

In one more year he will stop aging because, in all of human history, no one has ever been older than 61. Oh some SAY that they are older than 61, but they LIE! NO ONE ever get's older than 61, they just get uglier. Eventually we all die of ugliness or by ugliness. It's just an ugly fact of life and I should know: my name is Feo. The other ghosts didn't like her.
"Why are you making that noise?" She'd accost them in the hallways or just come gliding into their apartments with a rude remark. "That's just stupid. Why are you doing that?" She challenged everyone and had no time for traditional haunting behavior. The wailing; the bleeding: it all bored her. Her scorn fairly blasted them, and the other spirits complained incessantly.
Even more appallingly, she always wanted to have sex with them . . .

SUNDANCE INTERVIEW WITH TEETH DIRECTOR MICHAEL LICHTENSTEIN
January 15, 2008
by Alex Billington
One of the films everyone was raving about at last year's Sundance Film Festival was the indie horror comedy TEETH. If you really need to be reminded about what the film involves, then why not: vagina dentata! A young girl in high school discovers she's got teeth "down there" and learns to use this to her advantage (guys and girls take note). A year ago at Sundance I caught up with the film's director, Mitchell Lichtenstein, and talked about all things Teeth and his inspirations, among many other things. Now a full year later just as the film is finally being released into movie theaters (on Friday, January 18th) and right before this year's Sundance kicks off, I present to you my interview with Mitchell Lichtenstein. Curious to know more about Teeth? I'm sure you are!

A GOOD WEEKEND FOR UWE BOLLS
Is a bad weekend for Guillermo Del Toro. Del Toro's latest production, THE ORPHANAGE, didn't even crack the top ten this past weekend, but that can be forgiven because it only opened on 707 screens. IN THE NAME OF THE KING: A DUNGEON SIEGE TALE, opened on 1,631 screens - 294 more than The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie - which outperformed the Uwe tale even though it opened at #9. The Bolls movie opened at #14! Yikes!
Despite opening at #16, THE ORPHANAGE or EL ORFANATO brought in about $2,891 per screen, outperforming Alvin and the Chipmunks in the #5 slot.
Uwe's flick brought in about $2,000 dollars per screen. That's about 200 people per screen or, in the case of about 5 showings per day, 40 people per showing. So that's about 326,200 people nationwide or 6524 people per state. To put it another way, more people probably passed through your neighborhood chain grocery store in one day than watched Uwe Bolls' movie in your entire state! I have to wonder, since the movie trailers never mention Uwe's name, what percent of the audience had no idea they were watching a Bolls flick? I'm guessing that, of those 40 people per showing, half of them probably said during the opening credits, "Oh crap! This is a f*cking Uwe BOLLS movie?" Imagine the echo in such an empty theater.
TEABAGGED, BUTT-CHECKED, AND BOOBLED FOR YOUR SAFETY
FeoNote: It's not Horror, Thriller, Mystery, or Suspense, but when it's this damn weird, I just gotta let you know about it!
By Adam Frucci
This Takata airbag design is… interesting. Essentially, if you get in a car accident your face will be thrust quickly between two giant, inflatable ass cheeks. Or are they giant breasts? Depending on what you're in to, you could see it either way.

ELIJAH WOOD WANTS TO GO BACK AGAIN
Published by Shawn Adler on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 3:10 pm.
Attention Cate Blanchett (THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY, THE GIFT, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, HOT FUZZ), Viggo Mortensen (THE PROPHECY, THE LORD OF THE RINGS), Orlando Bloom (THE LORD OF THE RINGS, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN), and Sean Astin (THE LORD OF THE RINGS): You've gone "There." Now get ready to go "Back Again" - at least according to Elijah Wood's conversations with "Hobbit" maestro Peter Jackson (THE FRIGHTENERS, KING KONG).

TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY!
This is what's coming out tomorrow, Tuesday, January 15, on DVD.
Television -
CRISS ANGEL, MINDFREAK: THE COMPLETE SEASON THREE - The magician that even leaves other magicians wondering "How the hell did he DO that?"
HIGH DEFINITION:
BLU-RAY -
Not
HD DVD -
Squat
And these are the movies coming out on DVD
ALREADY DEAD - A revenge flick wrapped up as a Suspense Thriller.
THE ATTIC - Please read the review.
AUTOPSY - Cunning murder mystery from Spain and 1972.
AWAKENING FROM THE DEAD - From Serbia comes this unusual tale of a single zombie: Not the cannibal kind.
COLD HEART CANYON - Not to be confused with the novel by Clive Barker. This thriller is uh... is uh... Ahem! Well, it's another in the fine line of movies distributed by Maverick Entertainment.
EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS - Good story, but the Ray Harryhausen effects - which were incredible for their time - seem hokey today.
GHOST SON - Hey! It's Lamberto Bava! Even if it should happen that you CAN go wrong with this picture, you'll have fun doing it! Stars Laura Harring (THE BLACK SCORPION, MULHOLLAND DR., WILLARD [2006]) and Pete Postlethwaite (ALIEN3, THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK, DARK WATER, THE OMEN [2006]).
IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA - The Ray Harryhausen Octopus with six tentacles! Could this be the new CLOVERFIELD?
MELISSA - A crackling whodunnit from 1974 where a man is accused of his wife's murder. But if he is innocent, then whodunnit?
MONSTROID: IT CAME FROM THE LAKE - From 1978 comes this John Carradine (SHOCKWAVES) SciFi creature feature and Hack Horror trope Scenario 1d: The Immortal Maniac Killer.
NAKED PREY - Movie star, Cornell Wilde (NO BLADE OF GRASS, GARGOYLES), didn't set out to make one of the most brutal and bar raising Horror movies of all time in 1966: he was really trying to make a social commentary on the nature of humankind.
In doing so he created this classic which remains a powerful peice of Horror Thriller cinema over 40 years later.
RED EYE - Not to be confused with the mediocre plane flick with Jodie Foster, this Korean Horror Thriller is a chilling little number about a Ghost Train.
SKULL DUGGERY - From 1978 comes this gory blood-soaked warning of what can happen if you dabble in the occult art of role-playing board games.
TEENAPE GOES TO CAMP - Aw man is this digital flick ever cheap! They don't even TRY to hide the godawful special effects, which make this movie possibly so bad its good.
TRACK OF THE MOONBEAST - From 1976 comes this creature feature of Hack Horror trope Scenario 3b.
THE VARROW MISSION - Dammit! Can't I even go into one haunted house and not run across aliens from outerspace? This cheapie SciFi from 1978 is another in the so bad its good category.
