TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY!
These are the movies and shows coming out tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31, 2008, on DVD.

Television -
GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS: Best of Seasons 1 and 2

BLU-RAY -
UNBREAKABLE, THE CURSE OF KING TUT'S TOMB (The Complete Mini-Series), 10.5 APOCALYPSE (The Complete Mini-Series),

These are the movies -

CHRISTIE'S REVENGE - After her father's death by suicide, Christie, devastated with grief, decides that her family is responsible for his death, and weaves a plot to kill everyone who loves her in this Psycho-Thriller.

THE COOK - Please read the review.

EYE OF THE BEAST - Big Horror Monster movie! In this case an octopus! Stars James Van Der Beek (SCARY MOVIE, THE PLAGUE)

FEAR HOUSE - I was sent this movie some months ago back in 2007 to review. It was incomplete at that time with entire scenes and the beginning missing. Also the sound was so bad I couldn't understand what was being said half of the time. Naturally I never reviewed it, and if they fixed those problems, then this might be a good movie. For all of you newbie filmmakers out there? Don't send out rough cuts of your movie for review. It doesn't help you.

HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II - A crappy charm all its own.

SWEENEY TODD - A small but vocal cult of you have been waiting for this one. Please read the review. (in single and 2 disc)

But it just wouldn't be a truly bad movie without him and even the producers of the awful TOMATO movies realize that. With RETURN OF THE KILLER TOMATOES, he's been in every sequel since plus the cartoon series plus the (now valuable) "Professor Mortimer Gangreen" character doll. What can we say? WORLD WAR Z
Folks around the Web-O-Sphere of Fun are weighing in on the upcoming feature film, WORLD WAR Z, based on Max Brooks novel of the same name.

Moriarity got ahold of the screenplay and he's fallen in love with movies all over again (this is a weekly thiing with Mo'). Check out Moriarity at Aint It Cool.

Then Alex Billington gives his opinion of Moriarity's opinion over at FirstShowing.

Am I going to give you my opinion of WORLD WAR Z based on Alex's opinion based on Moriarity's opinion, based on a movie that isn't even finished yet?

Are you out of your freaking mind? Just go read their damn articles! I wouldn't have linked them up here if I didn't think they were worth it.

KELLY PARKS
From Kelly Parks
CONTRIBUTORS TO FEOAMANTE.COM ARE GOING PLACES
(FeoNote: First feoamante.com contributor Brian Keene won a Bram Stoker award [It's like the Oscar for Horror, only without the $30,000 swag bag]. Or was it feoamante.com contributor Mike Oliveri who won first? Then Brian won another one and became a top selling writer at Leisure Books. Then feoamante.com contributor Judi Rohrig won a Bram Stoker award. Then my contributors started getting published in books and writing movies (Harry Shannon), Television shows and comic books (Chris Gage), and even appearing in the commentary section of other people's movies on DVD (Monica O'Rourke). Now long time contributor Kelly Parks gets his turn at fame, glory, and groupies. Check out the following article from Movie producer Chris Staviski.)

Aloha folks, this is Chris and I am unbelievably happy to announce our next film project. Yes its true, the guys who brought you the world renowned and award winning short ZOMBIE HUNTER are getting ready to start on a new feature film. The film is called DRAWING DEAD and it is a Poker Theme Horror Film. This movie will make true poker players happy with realistic poker playing and the Horror fans will just love the Horror element of the film. For the Horror fans we will have plenty of frights, blood, guts, and gore.

Geoff Hamby, director of Zombie Hunter, is signed on to direct and I have to say that I am excited to be working with Geoff in the Director’s seat again. He is an amazing talent and is second to none when it comes to directing. He is a true professional with an amazing eye and an uncanny ability to get his vision across. I am on board as Producer and I even have a juicy roll in this film. I love being a character actor, and this new character will be a lot of fun. The script is written by Kelly Parks from an original treatment by me. Kelly is a genius. Actually, he is a genius and a bonafide Rocket Scientist. He even writes reviews and articles for Feo Amante's Horror Thriller! Kelly’s screenplays have won multiple awards including the 2006 International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival Screenplay Competition, which happens to be one of my favorite film festivals. His list of achievements are far too numerous to write in this blog, but I can tell you that he worked his magic on the DRAWING DEAD script. Schroeder, the Editor from Cult Movies Magazine, is lending his professional and artistic abilities to this film and I am sure that with him on board that this film will be great. (I wonder how many times I have said amazing or great in this blog?) We are currently signing on actors, some of whom will make a lot of people happy (Also, happy, how many times have I said happy?) as well as crew. The sets are in the design stage and we will hopefully start construction soon.

Thank you for reading this. I will keep everyone posted in regards to DRAWING DEAD as soon as new elements arrive. Also, for those of you who are wondering about CARNIES, starring Doug Jones (MEN IN BLACK II, HELLBOY, PAN'S LABYRINTH) and Reggie Bannister (PHANTASM, BUBBA HO-TEP). I have word that it will be finished soon and out there in the world for all of you small hand, cabbage smelling aficionados.

THINGS FOR YOUR EVIL LAIR
My evil lair would not be a house on land: subject to fires, storms, earthquakes, and encroaching urban decay. You ever see one of those old Universal monster movies where the decrepit domicile stands rotting up in the mountains or at the edge of a cliff? That castle or mansion was a victim of urban decay for sure! Just look at those crumbling stones and spider webs!

No, my evil lair would be an evil yacht! A big beautiful yacht costs as much as a regular house in a drab neighborhood, plus you can sail away at any moment with nothing more than fuel, food, and a few guns to keep those pesky rum-soaked pirates at bay.

In fact, if all of my hard work and everything goes my way, I'll probably buy a yacht instead of a house.

Then again, if I owned a yacht I wouldn't be able to have such an insanely cool home entertainment center like this $500,000 sucker at Luxist.com! God damn! Sweetest living room EVER! Imagine watching a BLU-RAY of John Carpenter's THE THING on that puppy? And by the time I'm ready to buy it, the price will have surely come down!

To see what I'm talking about, check out Luxist.

HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -
Horror Artist Morbideus (Morbideus Gallery, Postmortem-Prod) is 38.
Morbideus is also a bud at MySpace.com/ Morbideus.
When I first put today's birthday girl on the list, it was largely for her work in PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN. She stayed on through the sequels and I thought she had a genuine love for Horror Thrillers. But in light of her recent movies and her future productions, maybe she just has a thing for period piece costume dramas. That would be sad as actresses get into these little seen Merchant Ivory type soaps for a few years and, before you know it, folks are saying, "Whatever happened to X?" So 2008 may be the last year I can say, Happy Birthday to,
Actor Keira Knightly (INNOCENT LIES, THE HOLE, PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN [all] THE JACKET) who is 23. Kiera shares a March birthday with fellow PIRATES alumni, Jack Davenport.

The Mist
TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY!
These are the movies and shows coming out tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, 2008, on DVD.

Television -
FRISKY DINGO: SEASON 1 - It's not easy for an evil alien to destroy the earth on a tight budget, but Kill Face is going to give it a try. Not that anyone appreciates his work.

PAIN KILLER JANE - With all of the quality you've come to expect from the SciFi Channel! Kristanna Loken (TERMINATOR 3) is Jane: a superpowered human sent out by the government to kill other superpowered humans, thus making the world safe for irony. When it finally gets through Jane's skull that she too might be a tad more human than human, she goes on a blood thirsty odyssey of self-discovery. This might explain why the government was so keen on getting rid of these superhumans in the first place. 1029 minutes on 6 DVDs.

GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS- A collection of the "best of" seasons in two volumes.

PU-239 - The dichotomy of Thrillers is, the worse things get for the protagonists, the better the movie gets for the audience, and this one is both gripping and thrilling. Stars Radha Mitchell (PITCH BLACK, PHONE BOOTH, SILENT HILL) . Also known as The Half Life of Timofey Berezin.

Collections -
MR. WONG: DETECTIVE - Boris Karloff starred as inscrutable detective, Mr. Wong, back in the day when there weren't any Asian actors in Hollywood with star power and the studios planned to KEEP it that way. Also stars a very young Keye Luke who didn't get his own star power until the early 1970s with the TV series, Kung Fu. Say what you want about these period pieces, they're still pretty damn good! And like Charlie Chan, Mr. Wong wasn't insulting to Asian people.

TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM and DEATH SMILES ON A MURDERER -Stars Christopher Lee and Klaus Kinski respectively. The movies on this twofer are presented by the inestimable Johnny Legend.

THE DEL TENNEY COLLECTION - A threesome of early 60's slashers featuring THE CURSE OF THE LIVING CORPSE, THE HORROR OF PARTY BEACH, VIOLENT MIDNIGHT

BLU-RAY -
NAKED BENEATH THE WATER

These are the movies -

APRIL FOOLS DAY - Some age-of-consent teens have a party, stage a prank, prank goes wrong, and they are hunted down by a mysterious killer with junior college creativity.

BLUE EYES OF THE BROKEN DOLL - From 1973 Spain comes this Paul Naschy Horror collectable with a high definition transfer that is probably way better than the movie deserves. No Alpha Video crap on this one, Deimos (now Eclipse) is putting out high quality even if no one at the parent company, BCI, knows why. And the most of the big wigs I've spoke to at BCI have no idea that their company even owns Deimos or Eclipse!

DAS KOMABRUTALE DUEL - From 1999 Germany, it's the splatterfest revenge of the immortal mafia monster family!

THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW - Gets a second release. No reason given.

THE DRACULA SAGA: SPECIAL EDITION - From 1972 Spain comes this tale of gothic soap opera hijinks among the Dracula clan. Stars Helga Line (CLAWS OF THE LORELIE aka When The Screaming Stops).

EXTRAORDINARY RENDITION - In the UK, a young Muslim man is kidnapped by an unknown organization, taken to another country, questioned and tortured and returned to the UK, seemingly without any reason at all except to show that Western nations are wicked, evil places!

FINGERPRINTS - A group of TV and character actors come together to solve a terryifying mystery. How in the hell can ghosts possibly leave fingerprints since they don't have skin producing oil? Seriously! You want to hold something in your bare hand and not leave your fingerprints behind? Nothing to it. Wash your hands with denatured isopropyl alcohol (you can get it at any drug store), dry them off (or just wait a few seconds, your hands will dry pdq), then pick up a crystal clear drinking glass. Now set it down and shine a light through that glass. See? No fingerprints. You've temporarily dried up your skin oil. Try not to do that too much. Anyway, back to this movie, it stars Lou Diamond Phillips (BATS).

THE HAUNTING OF REBECCA VERLAINE: UNRATED - It took this 2003 movie from Spain all this time to hook a distributor and get on DVD. Was it worth the wait?

HELL'S THRESHOLD - Planets line up and a demon gets loose. This looks like a job for journalist Sam Bishop! If that plot line seems less than compelling, how about this? George Romero likes this movie. Bub help you if you don't know who THAT is!

HUMAN BEASTS: SPECIAL EDITION - From 1980 Spain comes this tale of a mercenary who betrays and double crosses his girlfriend, then gets shot for his trouble (cuz its hard down here for a backstabber!). Recuperating at a doctor's house (Why the doctor's house? Don't ask or there won't be a movie), the weakly and immobile mercenary is seduced by the doctor's ravishing young daughters (who must be really desperate to seduce a guy at death's door!) and the ghost of the doctor's wife (and you thought your family was weird!) Stars Paul Naschy.

THE LIVING AND THE DEAD - A very small family lives in a very massive house. The father is a doctor who has to go away on business. He calls a nurse to come and take care of his invalid wife and their very sick adult son. However, between Pop leaving and nurse arriving, sick son thinks he can take care of Mom himself, and thus show that he's not as mentally sick as everyone thinks he is. Psychotropic hijinks ensue creating a twisted cult film that you will either love or a piece of cinematic crap you will hate.

LOST HIGHWAY - David Lynch's twisted flick (does he make any other kind?) gets a new release.

MAYHEM MOTEL - From 2001 and before IDENTITY and VACANCY, but clearly after TOURIST TRAP and MOTEL HELL, came this little wound.

THE MIST - Please read my review.

PURVOS - A psychiatrist discovers that a group of patients are all having the same nightmares about an killer clown named Purvos. But don't you dare think that this movie is just A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET - but with a clown! You read me? Don't! You! Think! That! And if you ARE thinking that, DON'T!

THE RETURN OF SWAMP THING - Returns to DVD. Was this really necessary?

SHROOMS - Some happy campers go on a trip to Ireland to trip on mushrooms in the woods. Result: not-so-happy-campers. Shot in Lackuv-Illumination Vision!

THE SISTER OF URSULA - From 1978 Italy comes this tale of two sexually promiscuous sisters on holiday and a psychotic killer at their resort who kills women by tearing them to peices with a ... giant dildo! For those of you old farts who think sex is out of control among the youth today and long for the good old days -this movie is FROM your good old days!

THEM (aka Ils) - The film tha terrified Europe for 77 minutes comes to America and direct to DVD! A young couple goes on holiday and winds up face to face with THEM. Who are they? What do they want? And when will they give it back? Not to be confused with the Giant Ants movie THEM.

HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -
Horror Writer Jason Brannon (THE CAGE) is 31 years old today. Visit him at MySpace.com/ darkgraffiti.
Today's Birthday boy has rarely appeared in a film where his character wasn't clearly hardcore in some manner. But in 1992, with a starring role in his first Horror movie, he has taken a decided turn into the realm of Mystery Thrillers, usually hardcore Mystery Thrillers. So Happy Birthday to
Actor Gary Oldman (DRACULA [1992], TRUE ROMANCE, ROMEO IS BLEEDING, LEON, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, THE CONTENDER, HANNIBAL, SIN, HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, BATMAN BEGINS, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OFTHE PHOENIX, and more) who is 50.
