Universal Dead takes place five years after a zombie apocalypse in a world that’s just barely hanging on. A group of Navy SEALs escort a doctor from the Center for Disease Control on a mission to investigate a possible cure for the zombie plague.

“The idea of using real Navy SEALs in this series came to us during the writing process,” says Unconventional Films co-owner and series producer, Neil Trusso, who is also a former Navy SEAL. “Why not get the real deal and make the action even more authentic?” The web series was created by Unconventional Films co-owners Vernon Mortensen, a former US Navy SWCC, and feoamante.com alumni, Kelly Parks, the world’s only Ex-CIA/Rocket Scientist/Stand-up Comic/Screenwriter.

Unconventional Films recently finished the first season of their new comedy web series “The Crusader” and has 10 more web series in development. Unconventional Films is the “new media” arm of indie production/distribution company, Rogue Arts, whose latest feature film, Chamaco, a Mexican boxing drama starring Martin Sheen, Kirk Harris, Alex Perea and Michael Madsen, hits theaters soon. Unconventional Films' Vernon Mortensen and Neil Trusso also served as Co-Executive Producers.

Once the pilot episodes of Universal Dead are completed Unconventional Films will screen them for all interested distributors.

On December 8, 2009 Takashi Miike’s GOZU will be re-released in a brand new special 2-disc edition. The new DVD will keep the special features from the original release, including interviews by Eli Roth (HOSTEL), Guillermo Del Toro (HELLBOY) and Miike (IMPRINT), along with a featurette, still galleries and more, but will now feature 2 HOURS of never before seen behind the scenes footage.

Back in stores this week after a 6 month ban is Shane Ryan’s underground horror hit AMATEUR PORN STAR KILLER. Released in November of 2007, the $45 budgeted indie flick instantly became a hit selling out of stock everywhere. A sequel was released just 6 months later, and another sequel this past January (and even a 3D parody, release TBA). But then problems arose. When “Amateur Porn Star Killer 1 & 2” sold out of stock again the company behind replicating the DVD’s banned the entire trilogy for explicit content (and managed to loose the originals in the process). After nearly 6 months of delays and thousands of backorders “Amateur Porn Star Killer” is finally back (though it may take up to week to appear listed in stock on sites). “APSK2” is still a couple of months behind due to having to remake the master copies.
