Every week I post a video from somewhere on the web. Whatever captures my interest or attention.

This week is TONTINE MASSACRE. There are seemingly hundreds of rubes out there making gameshow and reality show Horror Thriller movies (or trying to). But this one looks like everyone had their shit together despite the low budget.

Check out TONTINE MASSACRE.

THE THING
It's happening people!

The Thing Will Arrive April 29, 2011
Universal Pictures is targeting The Thing for a release on April 29, 2011 which is two weeks after Scream 4 and one week after Red Riding Hood hit theaters. One week later, the 2011 summer season kicks-off with Thor.

Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, the film is a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 original with the same title. The studio describes the thriller as follows:

New 'Thing' Flings Into April 2011
The Thing (2011) will strike theaters on April 29, 2011, distributor Universal Pictures announced today. The science-fiction horror thriller is currently the only nationwide release scheduled for that weekend, and it slots into the same timeframe that the Nightmare on Elm Street remake haunted earlier this year.

Down

FeoNote: For those of you who have no idea who Director Matthijs van Heijningen is, know that, according to imdb.com, he has never directed a thing In His Life (not even a short film) - BUT - for the last 15 years he IS known in his home country of Netherlands as a producer of fine family films.

However, in 1983, Matthijs produced a movie about an elevator possessed by evil called DE LIFT. Written and directed by Dick Maas, it was remade 8 years later by Dick as DOWN aka THE SHAFT.

Universal Pictures looked at 66 year old Matthijs' over a quarter century long career as a producer of family films and romance dramas. Then they noticed van Heijningen had never wrote or directed a movie or expressed an apparent desire to do so. Then when they saw that he hadn't shown any interest in making a scary or thriller movie of any kind for the past 25 years, someone over there cradled a bong and said, "BY GOD! (ttthhhhhp...enk! enk! enk! Hooooooo....) He's PERFECT for directing a prequel to one of the scariest movies of all time!"

And then someone else at Universal said, "Hey man, either finish the bowl or pass it over."

So THE THING fans, prepare to be shat upon yet again by Universal Pictures.

David will be signing and giving away posters for Eclipse the third film in the Twilight series.

Dark Delicacies is located in their new venue at
3512 W. Magnolia Blvd,
Burbank, CA

FeoNote: You probably have a great bookstore or Indie theater in your area of the world. And that place probably has signings by people writing, directing and otherwise creating in Horror, Thriller, Mystery, and Suspense: Even in Science Fiction or Supernatural Horror, Thriller, Mystery, and/or Suspense. And you probably wish that I would give them free coverage too.

I'd really like to, but those places haven't contacted me or sent me any emails alerting me to their next signing. The moment they do that, I'll be happy to include them. Even if they operate as far away as Invercargill.

Celebrate 'Psycho's' 50th with this Cool Clip
Hard to believe it was fifty years ago today that Alfred Hitchcock changed the face of modern horror cinema forever with the release of Psycho. I wasn't alive when it premiered back in 1960, but as a horror fan it has been a part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. The effect Hitchcock's film had on horror and suspense cinema is undeniable and has been well documented -- so rather than rehash ground already covered, we've decided to celebrate Psycho's birthday in a different way.

QUICK BITES
The Word at 3D Summit: SLOW DOWN!

Avatar,” for instance, was frequently celebrated as the film that showed what 3D can do – but coming in a close second in mentions was the format’s main cautionary tale, “Clash of the Titans,” which came up again and again as an example of the kind of slipshod 3D that could lead to a backlash and damage the growth of the technology.

“’Clash of the Titans’ is important here,” said Brian Rogers, the producer of an upcoming 3D version of “Godzilla,” “because it made the industry realize that you cannot do substandard 3D and charge full pricing.”

Long fantasy thriller defies summer theory
An American fantasy thriller hyped to blaze onto the horizon just as summer readers begin their search for something new and exciting, The Passage defies reason.

What kind of writer would produce a 776-page odyssey just when experts are warning that the book is a dying art form, and when educators are fretting over the ever-shrinking attention span of the new generation?

Who would boldly agree to publish such a recklessly timed book?
