THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
I got a chance to see a preview screening of the movie and I'm here to tell you ALL about it! So SPOILER ALERT! Don't scroll past this trailer if you know what's good for you.
You fool! I warned you about the spoilers, but you just had to look, didn't you?
That's cool. I admire your spirit! Okay then, here they are. SPOILERS FROM THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!
Ahem. The Avengers win.
But wait! There's more!
Dr. Bruce Banner nearly gets killed! But he turns into The Hulk and it's all Water Under the Bridge.
Tony Stark is nearly murdered! But then his suit flies up to save him and Bob's Yer Uncle.
Thor nearly dies! But a lightening bolt from his flaky step-brother whisks him away in the nick of time and Voila!
Captain America is nearly cut in half! But then he remembers he has a Super Shield and it's a Done Deal.
Swiffer duty is left for Hawkeye, Black Widow, and the newcomers, Kick-Ass and the Ashley Twins' younger sister.
Except for Heimdall, your doorman, the realm's Most Super Doorman, all the non-whites (Fury, War Machine, Falcon, etc.) have walk-on, walk-off, un-super, unimportant roles that don't move or matter to the story. None of them are under any risk of getting their own movie, not even their own TV show.
Maybe I should talk about that next time I go to Starbucks?

WHO'S HUNGRY?
"Crude old school animation, but that's part of its hook, I think. Two kids and a giant ice cream man."
Lots of crude hand drawn animation out there, but when you mentioned the giant ice cream man, I can only think of David Ochs, WHO'S HUNGRY.

Seems like only a few years ago I watched this on its opening weekend and marveled.
DAWN OF THE DEAD - 2004
Review by Kelly Parks
It's confusing, I know. There's lots of movies with "Dead" in
the title and lots of zombie movies. Unless you're a fan of the genre it's easy for people to get them mixed up. So let me make this really clear. The three movies that matter are NIGHT
OF THE LIVING DEAD - 1968, DAWN OF THE DEAD - 1978, and DAY OF THE DEAD - 1985 (the last one, DAY OF THE DEAD, is one of my all time favorite horror movies).
A remake of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD came out in 1990 and was nothing special. It didn't suck like Tim Burton's re-imagining of PLANET OF THE APES but it didn't really add anything either. Other than being in color it didn't stray much from the original story. If you're going to re-make a movie especially a really good movie you've got to have a new twist.
Which brings
me to DAWN OF THE DEAD.

PIXELS NOT PIXAR
Stupid? Yes. No problem. I was down with the stupid. Bring on the Funny Stupid!
Then I saw it stars Adam Sandler, is Produced by Adam Sandler, and is based on a story by Adam Sandler.
So no funny.
I'm on the fence about Kevin James these days, what with all his Adam Sandler.

AS IF MY 1998 STORY, ROT YER WORLD, NEEDED MORE SCIENTIFIC VALIDATION...
You may want to say THEM, upon reading the latest news about lab created giant ants, I wouldn't blame you.
I would only remind you that the giant ants in THEM were created by a preposterous fluke of radiation that wouldn't work for a number of reasons that Kelly Parks made clear in his !!!SCIENCE MOMENT!!!.
However, these giant ants that were grown in the lab through a fiddling with ant DNA would work.
Unlike random radiation or a "Toxic Spill" (EMPIRE OF THE ANTS) randomly flipping or removing thousands or millions of switches in a million different ways for a billion different ants, this growth was surgically precise. An ant species unnaturally made twice its own size in the lab
wouldn't suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous growth because nobody took an ant and used an embiggen ray on it. These giant ants were conceived and born to be giants. Everything that would stand in the way of them not being twice their size was taken into account and custom-tailored in or out (depending).
Researchers nearly double the size of worker ants

So where's my tie-in?
