Silent Hills is silenced (am I the first one to say it like that?). Hideo Kojima has shown the corporate world and fans that a director passing through a successful franchise can destroy it and possibly the corporation that created it. I'm not taking sides, you understand. Like nearly all of us, I don't know what is behind the "conflicts" that Kojima and his crew had with Konami.

While SILENT HILL remains as popular as ever, it is not without its flaws and the company, Konami, has made quite a few missteps in their stewardship of the property (SILENT HILL movies, anyone?). Still, it appeared to be a great idea to have Kojima as well as Guillermo del Toro and actor Norman Reedus involved.

The following article isn't about what could have been. That is over for good and as of this writing, so is SILENT HILL everything.
