CHILD 44 - Character Posters
- 2015
Summit Entertainment, Worldview Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, Etalon Film, Stillking Films
Rated: USA: R |
Tom Rob Smith's ground breaking first novel, CHILD44, swept the literary world by storm in 2008. Quickly translated into over 30 languages, it rapidly hit all the nomination lists for best writing, best novel, pretty much everything. So it was a given that such a story would be scooped up for cinemazation (yes I just made that up. I'm pretty sure I did it first, anyway).
CHILD44 is based on the true horror thriller tale of Joseph Stalin era Soviet Union, when a gruesome child murderer dubbed Rostov Ripper, the Butcher of Rostov, and the Red Ripper (because no one knew if it was the same person. Serial killers usually have a heyday in Socialist countries where people are afraid to question anything lest shadowy government minions involved).
Because Rob Smith's is so much better than anything I've ever wrote, the movie is being treated with respect as well, meaning this movie will be marketed as a Thriller sans the Horror. Like THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS was, although there was no one in the audience who missed the first and foremost Horror movie soul of the film.
Now that I've wetted your appetite for this April 17 U.S. release, here are the latest character posters for March 25, 2015.
