FEO NEWS JAN. 4, 2020 - MAY 18, 2021: These are Updated and Archived news items, many of them outside of this website. |
As of 2021, I extended this color chart to reflect the full CDC mortality count since the U.S. Patient Zero on Jan. 4.* People will talk and write about the year 2020, 2021, and COVID-19 for a long time. I hope this color-coded chart will be helpful. (1) Deaths with confirmed or presumed COVID-19, coded to ICD–10 code U07.1 0-1,000 | 1,001-3,000 | 3,001-5,000 | 5,001-7,000 |

So! How well are you doing so far? UPDATES: As of May 18, 2021, the CDC has decided that Patient 0 in the U.S.A. DID occur on Jan. 4, thirteen days before China reported the first COVID-19 death on Jan. 18. As of April 3, 2021, the CDC has decided that Patient 0 in the U.S.A. did not occur on Jan. 4, but two weeks later in the week of Jan. 18 with three separate Patient Zeros. Mutiple media sources report that the first COVID-19 death did not occur in the U.S. until February 3, 2020, but as of April 2021, CDC maintains that C-19 deaths occurred in January. NYT reports that the first death by COVID-19 in China happened on Jan. 11, 2020. CDC reports three deaths in the U.S. by Jan. 18, 2020. NYT maintains that the first death in the U.S. did not happen until Feb. 29, 2020 - Leap Year day. NYT also maintains that, due to the inherent incompetence of the Chinese Government, precautions, cautions, and other measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 were intentionally bungled by the Chinese bureacracy. National Public Radio (NPR), claims that the first death in the U.S. was both on Feb. 29, 2020 in Seattle, Washington, and Feb. 6, 2020 in Santa Clara County, California. The Center For Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) of the University of Minnesota, confirms the first two U.S. COVID-19 deaths on Feb. 6 in Santa Clara County, California. This is not meant to be either a damning or glib statement regarding conflicting news from various sources. What's important to remember is that no one source has all the answers and believing otherwise is a matter of faith. The spread of such faith in single sources for news leads to misinformation. Throughout the 15 months of doing this graph, and the 12 months of making it public here, I arbitrarily locked the updates whenever I felt a curious change took place. Please note that my curiousity factor in archiving these frozen moments is due to my personal filter and so empirical. Locked archive links provided below.

Some people think I'm more important than you (I don't, but they do. You know how they are) and this is their (HA!) evidence. Matt Jarbo's interview with Feo Amante at The Zurvivalist.
